A few years ago, my broiler element stopped heating, so we used the baking element only. Last week the baking element stopped heating up too. This time, I replaced the baking element, but it still won't heat up. Are there fuses somewhere that I can replace?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE FEB30S5ASA Frigidaire/electric Range | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Lassomption/318046208.pdfCould not find a manual for this specific unit but perhaps some on the info in the following will be useful. Hopefully someone else will jump in with it. http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdfs/481_18.pdfYou will notice a thermal switch (Item 119 in Section 2 of the parts). It is inline with both elements perhaps it is open (blown). Also looks like there is a DLB relay if it is a Canadian unit, no idea where that is! First this to check is if the unit is actually getting 240 volts. First try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker and the elements require the full 240 volts. If this does nothing. Measure the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the unit's terminal strip to ensure they are properly connected and none of them have burned off If OK Plug the unit in and check the voltage at the terminal strip. This is just in case you have a bad line cord. Be careful 240 volts is lethal. Note: Always shut power off to the unit when working on it. One side of the elements is always live even if the element is shut off. If the elements, thermal switch, DLB relay (if it has one) and power are all OK then probably your control board is shot. |
