Hotpoint range, model number decal says "R B757GON6AD" and serial VH267597Q. This web site directed me to order parts for Hotpoint model RB757GN6AD. Ordered the oven timer kit (callout 16) and received AP2633677 aka W19X10005, an electronic timer clearly built to supersede the mechanical original equipment timer. Fine, OK, whatever. Only problem is the replacement timer's plastic housing is smaller than the old mechanical one's aluminum housing; in fact, it's about 1/8 of an inch less wide. So the replacement timer is too small for its retaining snaps to engage the mounting plate (callout 28). Another way to think of this is that the hole in the mounting plate is too big to engage the snap clips on the sides of the new timer's body. I think this is a case of "supersedes" having to be taken with a grain of salt. Bottom line: this replacement timer does NOT fit this oven. Does anyone have experience with this setup and is there a workaround? Thanks. Brian.
