Default Oven is making beep music and showing error codes F1 and F0
Model Number: cps227w   Brand: Dacor   Age: More than 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
This is a Dacor double oven (top convection) we bought in 1995.

Straight and to the point:
Oven turns off during preheating, beeps inconsistently and shows error codes F0 and F1. Had a technician come by and say the ERC is bad and needed to be changed. I bought a new ERC and installed it and am still having the same problem.

Per Dacor Owners's Manual:
F0 - Touchpad being stuck in a depressed position
F1 - Element relay circuit failure

I don't think it is the touchpad, since there is a new ERC, but does the F1 mean that one of the relay boards is bad and needs replacing? and if so, how can I test it to make sure or to find out which one needs replacing? Or, could the ERC be defective.

Thanks in advance for your help.
---Brad

Hi sandmn3

It is pretty simple to find out exactly what is the problem: the touch pad or the control board. Remove the power from the oven, open the control panel and unplug the touch pad ribbon from the control board. Replace the control panel, restore the power and monitor the oven for a few hours.
If no error codes shown up, the problem is the shorted pads on the touch pad. If you see the error codes again then the ERC you bought is defective.

- The part number for the new touch pad (aka membrane switch or bezel)is AP3395080

Good luck.
Gene.

Default Magic Chef model 6498vta ser#14004916ks

Oven was purchased in 1994. Since then we have replaced the timer three times - twice in the last 90 days. The last one only lasted 8 hrs. It works for a while then starts beeping and displays an F1 code. Repairman is stumped. Any ideas?

Hi Michael,

I do not think the problem is a bad timer. Most likely it is a shorted pad(s) on the membrane switch.

In order to provide the right part number for the membrane switch I need the color of it.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model 6498VTA

I am having a similar issue with my Amana. Started beeping and was selecting the timer on its own like someone was standing there hitting the timer button. I unplugged the pad and restored power and the beeping went away. A new $100 membrane pad is on the way...

Lazer,

Most likely the new membrane switch will solve the problem. Keep us posted.
