Was going to bake a cake and when I was pre heating the oven to 350 degrees, I observed that the baking heating element was cold, and the broil heating element was hot to the touch, but no where near 350 degrees. And yes, I had the control knob on bake, and not on broil. Is it the control switch that's bad, or the thermal switch?

Pull out the Bake heating element and check for a broken/burned out wires.

Check the heating element for continuity.

Check for 240 VAC to the heating element while the control calls for Bake.

Post the results.
