Model Number: kgct305ewh0 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
Appliance - KiitchenAid cooktop, Model kgct305ewh0, approximately 10 years old.
Issues - all four burners have stopped sparking. The knob still lets the gas out. So the cooktop can be use with the help of a match stick or lighter. Based on primary research it seems like the following needs to be replace: Spark module - Spark module for top burners. Instruction sheet included. Part Number: AP3126624 made by WHIRLPOOL However I want help for the following: 1. Is my assumption correct? Is it the spark module or something else? 2. Does this part from appliancepartspros.com come with installation instructions? 3. How can I get a wiring diagram for this cooktop? The web site say the following Wiring diagram Part Number: AP3077683 made by WHIRLPOOL Requires special attention Please give us a call at 1-877-477-7278 I really want to Do-It-Myself. However I want to do it right. Let me know if this is not a plug-n-play solution. Thanks In advance Nick Ads By Google Related Models |

Most Spark modules comes with 6 connections. 4 small connections (1for each burner) and 2 large connections for power input. The way it works is simple. Each burner knob is tied in with the rest. When you turn on a burner, power is sent to the spark module and it sparks all 4 burners at the same time. Pretty easy to replace. spark module maytag.jpg

I have a 10+ yr old cooktop kgct305x.
My problem is that it only sparks intermittently. Usually when I plug and unplug it will work again for a while. Have removed cover panel and tighteded all connections. Then it worked. Came back several hours later and no spark. Ghosts? Do I need new ignighter module? Local shop recommends FSP Module-SPK RA bar code 4454392. Looks like it will be a bear to install given limited space under counter. This is my first time here. Should I be asking for help in another manner? Where do I look for response? You could check around and get a generic for less money. Yes they do get intermittant. Just start a new thread if you like and post yer model number. if I get a chance to look at your particular application I can give you a better explanation. Always striving to make it easier and cheaper on everyone will keep the costs down and help the whole US economy. Now if my dang overdue stimulation check will creep into mailbox here in the swamp.
