The broiler of my 5.5 year old electric range heated properly on the low setting and was cooking for about 10 minutes when the oven made a sound like a balloon popping. After that, I get no heat from either the broiler or bake function. The console still operates and the lights indicate the oven is preheating, but no heating happens. Is this repairable? Or should I just shoot it now and put it out of my misery?
