GE Oven Won't Light Ignitor won't glow
Model Number: JGS.... Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a 1.5 year old GE Gas Oven. For a month or so the oven would come on by itself at random times for just a few seconds and go off (whether this is related or not I don't know) Anyhow the ignitor went from randomly lighting the oven, in the past week where most of the time it would take a lot of fiddling around actually tapping the ignitor, to just plain not getting red anymore. I thought initially the oven switch/thermostat was bad so i replaced it to no avail, I am wondering where to go next (new ignitor?) or does the initial symptoms of coming on by itself indicate I need to do something else. I don't want to spend anymore than I need to, my GE washer burned me on this and that about 6 months ago.
