I was informed that my Kitchen Aid needs a control board because of the broiler and bake selections do not ignitie. With no detailed diagnosis besides looking at the oven the repairman said a cotrol board . Is there something I can check myself before a board is purchased. Could it be possible that the gas contrl solenoid is not working properly and if so how many ohms of resistance should there be between the common and bake and the common and the broil? One more question about this oven would be is where is the gas contrl solenoid?
THANKS,BKDW

Yes there is something you can check. It is a thermostat. You have to pull the oven out, and take the back off. Of course kill the power. Once the back is off, in the middle of the back is a round part the size of a quarter, and has 2 wires coming to it, and 2 screws holding it in place. Take the 2 wires off, and then put the terminal ends together, and put some tape around it, so it does not hit metal, and then turn the power back on, and see if it heats. If it does, replace the thermostat. If not, replace the board. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts
