Model Number: CRE9300CCL Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
Maytag oven, when you set it to bake at 400 degrees after 30 minutes, temperature in oven, while warm, is not 400 degrees. What part needs to be replaced?

Probably bad bake igniter. Did the range ding to indicate that it had reached the 400F temperature, if so it is probably a defective oven sensor. If you are electrically inclined the igniter should be drawing greater than 3.2 amps when lit and the sensor should read 1000-1100 ohms at room temperature & increase 1.5-2 ohms/ deg after that.
Neither part is very expensive, it would probably worth it to have a pro do the job, less frustration, less shocking and done right. Last edited by Earl Dryer : 06-01-2008 at 02:17 PM. |

Earl's advise is pretty good but there is no igniters in this oven because it's electric. The first thing I would do is measure the temperature inside the oven to find out what is the difference.
Place an oven thermometer in the middle of the oven and set the oven for 350°F. Wait about 15 minutes after it biped indicating it had reached the temperature and read the thermometer. Post your findings. Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag range Model CRE9300CCL Gene.

jmahlstadt,
If you don't mind I'm going to piggyback along on this thread as I'm in the same boat. We might be able to benefit from shared info. I have an Admiral wall oven that is 100 degrees off to the cool side. I've replaced the temp sensor this weekend and it's still off by 100 degrees. My local parts supply tested the bake element with an ohmeter. 50+ ohms = bad element. Mine tested at 19 ohms = not bad. Whats next? |

What is the complete model number of the oven? Gene.

Hi Eric,
Most likely the problem is a bad control board (aka clock or timer). - The part number for the clock is AP382957 Here are the break down diagrams for the Admiral oven Model A9875XRB Gene.

Gene,
Thanks for the reply. Now that you mention it.... awhile back (December) I was gone for a few weeks on business. My wife reminded me about the oven beeping in the middle of the night during my absence. She went to the kitchen and the control board was beeping and flashing a "F1" code. She hit the Stop/Clear button and it has not done it since. ????? Maybe that was the beginning of the end for the control...... Thanks Eric. |

Eric,
Looks like not only the clock is bad (temperature issue) but the control panel is bad too (F1 error code). - The part number for the control panel is AP386239 - The part number for the clock is AP382957 Gene.
