Tried using my gas stove yesterday and it would'nt get hot. Investagated further and found that the glowbar or igniter was working but gas was not being released. What could be causing this problem???

Then it's likely to be a bad igniter. Even if it glows, it has to allow enough voltage through to power the gas valve for that burner. Part number: AP4041245
