Model Number: GS395LEHS7 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Greetings,
I have a Whirlpool Gold Super Capacity 465 Accubake System Oven, model number GS395LEHS7, Serial number RL2315727. When "Bake" is selected, the pre-heat timer begins it's count-down but no light-off occurs. The only sound heard is a relay making contact behind the control board. nothing occurs after the pre-heat complete tone. When "Broil" is selected, a relay behind the control board is heard making contact and two clicks are heard coming from the gas control/safety valve. Nothing else follows. All four cook-top burners function fine. I have replaced the oven control board and still have the same results. Any ideas on where I should continue my troubleshooting? Thanks, Louis Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by LouisC : 05-26-2008 at 07:56 PM. Reason: Addition of information |

here is your wiring diagram: http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%208272223.pdf
I'd say try a spark module.

That was my original idea. The spark module is part of the oven control board. This did not correct the problem. The self clean mode does not work and I do not have any fault codes. Thanks, Louis |

Hi Louis,
Most likely the problem is a bad spark module. It is a separate part, located on the left side inside the control panel (#5 on the break down diagram). - The part number for the spark module is AP3672576 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool range Model GS395LEHS7 Gene.

Hi Gene,
Yes, this is the componet that I replaced. I checked the connectors and the wiring appears to be in good shape. What are the odds of receiving a bad part and still have the exact problem? Must be somewhere else. Louis |

Remove the red and the white wires from the spark module and check for 120VAC across these wires while the control calls for Bake.
Remove the blue and the white wires from the spark module and check for 120VAC across these wires while the control calls for Broil. Post the results. Gene.

Hi Gene,
I just found the following information regarding this issue, any idea if my model would be affected by this and if so, where would this thermofuse be located? Quote:

Hi Louis,
The problem with a thermal fuse on the back of the oven is very common but it has nothing to do with your range. All models with such problem are build in, electric, single or double ovens only. I'm afraid you measured voltage across wrong wires because it should be J4 & J6 for Bake and J4 & J7 for Broil. The wires must be removed from the spark module prior to the test. If there is no 120VAC on any of these pair then the control board has to be replaced. - The part number for the control board is AP2990403 Gene.

Gene,
I checked for voltage at the locations you specified and still nothing. I find it rather suspicious that this is a new control board and it didn't fix the problem the first time. No other possibilities? The diagram is rather vague. Thanks again, Louis |
