Hello. I was using my broiler 2 days ago to cook a piece of fish, which I have done many times in the past. This particular night, there was a little more oil splash than usual, and I noticed some flames shoot out of the exhaust vent (usually there is only some smoke). I heard a POP of some kind, although I am not 100% sure of where the sound originated from. There is no visible fire damage to the oven.

Fast forward to last night, and the stove top is working as expected, but neither the oven nor the broiler will ignite. The control panel allows me to select an oven temperature, and then I get a Pre-heating message. There is no odor of gas.

Any idea of what happened, or what I can do to fix the problem? Thanks!

I am still in need of advice if there is any to be had. I amk wondering if the following part would be the correct one to replace:

Part Details - GE CONTROL T09 SET SERV, part number: AP3993951

It seems like this is the only control for the oven that I can find. Again, the stovetop works fine. The clock works, and I am able to control the oven and broiler settings. But it seems as if something is stopping the bas from reaching the oven. If the igniter were bad, wouldn't there be some gas odor in the oven? Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I tried changing out the ignitor, but the oven still wont light. I have doubt about the gas valve being faulty, because the stove burners still work as expected. But there don't appear to be any other things that I could change out. I know that I haven't received any help so far, so I am reaching here. If you have any thoughts, please let me know.Thanks.
