Model Number: JGP640EM1BG Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years
our ge model JGP640EM1BG 4 burner cooktop no longer sparks. each of the spark swtiches has been wet at one time or another. but all went out at once, which indicates to me that the problem is likely in the spark module. Although, the switches could be bad as well. I read another forum post on this topic but would like to know how to get access to the spark module and switches. there are a number of screws on the sheet metal enclosure underneath. Is that the way in, or is there a way to get to the module and/or switches from the top? once I can get access then I'll order the needed parts. I'll probably replace the 4 switches while I'm at it, in addition to the spark module. The other forum post is linked below. so, how can I get to the module and switches?
