Default Lower Heating Element Won't Work
Model Number: JBP21BY3AD   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Lower heating element not working, purchased new element from Appliance Parts Pros.com, installed it and it still will not heat. The broiler element on top will work and get hot but can't get the lower one to work. What else could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated!

Remove the lower heating (bake) element, disconnect the wires and check for 240V to the element while the control calls for Bake.

If there is no 240V then check all wires. If there is nothing wrong then replace the control board (aka clock).

- The part number for the control board is AP2026125

- The part number for the faceplate is AP2025965

Dear Gene;

Thanks for the advice. Is it necessary to replace the faceplate? Checked voltages and the one inside the oven (lower heating element) showed only 20-30 volts. Please let me know about the faceplate. Thanks for your help!

You can use the old faceplate if you can remove it from the old control board not damaged.
