Element stopped working in the middle of cooking. On light on switch works, it comes on, but element does not heat. Help, what shoud I do first.

Make sure the connection is sound and clean. Pull the burner out of its socket and reinsert it. If you have a meter, test the connection for 240VAC while the burner is removed. If you don't have a meter, test the connection by swapping the burner with one of the same size. If you have the correct voltage and a good connection, and the burner still doesn't work, replace the burner.
