Oven Repair (including Ranges and Cooktops)

I need help with my 2002 Whirlpool (mod# RS675PXG) Electric drop-in range. I recently used the self-cleaning cycle and found that everything but both heating elements will work. I thought that it was the oven shutdown thermal fuse and replaced it with (part# 9759243) a new one. BUT before I did any replacing I thought “if I jump the two orange wires that connect the fuse that might tell me that the problem was the fuse”. I did and what happened next was the circuit breaker opened and some sparks flew out. So now with the new fuse installed the top broiler heating element is always on, even with the oven off. Do I need a whole new control panel, or is there a way to change out only the relay that controls the top broiler heating element?

Did you ever get an answer for your issue? I have a 2002 Whirlpool and the upper element suddenelly won't turn off.
