This range is installed in a rental unit. Oven would not light. I tried to bypass pilot by using a lighter to heat the thermacouple. No Luck.
I purchased a replacement kit from APP and installed it. The unit was OEM and consisted of a new burner, pilot, and thermacouple. After installation, all seemed well and working. The next day, the symptoms reappeared. So now, before buying more parts, blindly, I learned of this forum.
I think it can be one of two things: 1. a bad connection between the thermacouple lead and the thermostatic valve or 2. a bad thermostatic valve. I am leaning to a bad valve because the connection between the original thermacouple and the valve was tight and clean and the same with the replacement. And it did function. It seem there is an intermittant issue with the receipt of the voltage signal from the thermacouple and the saftey vavle.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance to any and all help.
