My electric counter top stove kept shorting out, so I checked with with volt meter and looke like the lf element was faulty. I ordered a new element and disconnected the element so we could use the stove until the part came in. I rebooted the breaker and it shorted to ground-I checked and found it was shorting out on the metal frame plate that holds the elements in place. It looks like when the burners get hot the plate warps and falls and shorts out on the connectors. I looked and there is some type of adhesive that holds the metal to the glass and the glue needs to be reglued. Have you heard of this and is there a repair for this or do I need to replace the complete stovetop?
