Model Number: acs3350as Brand: Amana Age: 5 - 10 years
My oven controller/display blacks-out (loses power) when the oven is in operation. When the oven cools the display returns. I have removed the stove top to access the controller , but see no visible signs of damage to the wiring or the circuit board. The controller is not available any more. Was there a problem with this specific model?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for AMANA ACS3350AS Range - S/c S/i Gas | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is a tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/maytag.../T231_15R0.pdf Here is a manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/S231_2R1.pdf And finally a tech bulletin which may apply. http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...DC-0044A-B.pdf Looks like there were heat issues but it was probably blowing boards. Unplug the unit. Does sound like a bad connection somewhere in the unit, the trick will be finding it. If the unit has a cooling fan make sure it is working. Check all connections going to and on the control board. Check them for tightness, pitting and discoloration.

Hello Denman,
It took some time to find it, but you were correct. The neutral, feeding the controller, was loose inside the multi-pin connector. I couldn't get a good connection so I soldered the wire straight to the board. Works like new. Thanks for your help, Midwayyankee |

Midwayyankee or denman, I believe I am having the same exact problem with my Amana oven. I bought a new motor (I was lucky enough to find one and think I might have found the last one!) and new control limiters. I installed them but still had the same issue with oven shutting down. Tested the fan with test cord and it's working. In fact the old fan works even. Now I think I have the same problem midwayyankee did. However, I don't understand which part he's talking about. Could you be more specific about the neutral feeding to the controller?
I sure am glad I found this forum. I don't have the money to buy another oven right now and have hope I won't have to. |
