Model Number: 30-4952-00-02 Brand: Tappan Age: More than 10 years
I’ve seen similar posts answered and I apologize for the redundancy, but I am unsure if the procedures apply to all brands!

Can you tell me the procedure for removing the top of a 17 year old Tappan gas range with sealed top burners, Model No. 30-4952-00-02? I am attempting to replace the left front ignitor switch which is located behind the left front knob mounted in front of the range. The left front ignitor (the burner mostly used) will not spark using the left front knob. If I leave the left front knob in the lite position (supply gas) and turn any of the other burners to the lite position, the left front burner and which ever other burner I turn on will ignite at the same time.

I tried to remove one of the small burner screws and the head broke off. Is there some method to prevent that from happening to the rest of the screws? I have ordered 1 burner, 13 burner screws and an ignitor from your website.
