Default Whirlpool Range - DSI Unit Not detecting Flame
Model Number: SF357PEKT1   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

I have read through the DSI troubleshoot manual for this range and it appears as though the flame detection device is not working correctly. When I set my oven to Bake or Broil, the igniter kicks on and lights the gas. The ignitor keeps going and after 4 seconds the gas turns off. This will occur 3 times within the 3 minutes and then the oven will kick into lock down mode for a while.
I have checked the voltage on the DSI and all appears correct per the instructions, so the last three options are to, 1 Check ignitor for continuity, (not sure what this means?), Check polarity - circuits are wired correctly, and ignitors work - so this would appear to be OK, and lastly - replace the DSI. I have no problem replacing the part, but I want to be sure that this is the problem, given that everything else appears to work correctly.
Could it be an earth problem as well - I have checked for loose wires and connections but cant isolate any particular problem??
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
