Thermador BBQ CGBD36RX

The infrared burner starter is broken. The shield covers the screw and I don't see how to get at the part.

Please, how do you get at it for the repair. Thanks. Doug

The Ignitor, Hot Surface (AP2836885) seems to be what I need for the repair.

Thanks. I did find how to remove it from the back side. The fit of this unit is poor. One of the screws cannot be removed because the spot welded flange is offset. Thermador ain't what it used to be ....

Got the new part and then dropped it putting the hex extensions on. Brittle little critter. Another $90 learning experience.

Thanks again for the help.

I am working on a unit that has the position of the front panel and the bullnose reversed. The panel is outside the bullnose, so I cannot get to the screws that hold the bullnose in place. I can only remove the panel's bottom screws, which leaves it tightly wedged in to the bullnose at the panel's top edge. How can this be removed?

Hello,
I believe one of the screws which hold the knob bezel also helps to secure the control panel onto the front of the unit. Refer to page 11 of the service manual that's attached to the above post for control panel removal instructions.
