Default Gas oven repair
Model Number: 911.36759590   Brand: Sears   Age: More than 10 years

How many things can go wrong with a gas oven. It just quit working. The front panel says its turning on but its not. Probably an ignitor is one possibility. Should you hear the gas in the oven like you do on the stove top burners. I don't hear the gas. What else can it be. Thanks

coaler,

Most likely the problem with your oven is a bad igniter.

Assuming we are talking about the Bake mode, remove the oven floor, the flame spreader and the bottom drawer. Check for 120V to the igniter while the control calls for Bake.

If there is 120V then the igniter has to be replaced.

If there is no 120V then post it and we will go further.

- The part number for the oven igniter is AP2014008

Gene.

Default oven repair

I checked the voltage on the igniter when I turn the oven on, there is none. The broiler doesn't work either. Didn't check the voltage on that tho. Must be in electronic control panel?

If there is no power to the igniter then the control board is bad and has to be replaced.

- The part number for the control board is AP2025164
