I have a Whirlpool Gas Range converted for propane. The correct conversion kit was installed. The Gas Range is between 4-5 years old.

Well, my wife was cooking and noticed when she finished that the stove would not shut off. I tried to unplug the stove, since it has an electronic valve assembly and the stove continued to stay on. I turned off the supply of propane and only then did it shut off (obviously). With the stove still unplugged I turned back on the supply of propane and could hear the propane coming out of the stove. So I immediately shut off the propane supply again and waited about 20 minutes. Tried the routine again and you could not hear the propane coming out. I then plugged the stove back in and tried to turn on the stove at the bake cycle. The stove came on but would not shut off again.

Is the Electronic Valve assembly at fault? When I remove the electronic contacts from the Valve assembly I read 0 ohms across it. What is normal? Without a load I cannot read any current across this part. Is this correct? This is Whirlpool part# 98011275.

A little history...When we first got the stove, we noticed a loud metal "bang" during preheat coming from inside the stove. This has been going on ever since. Is this normal? It's as if once the metal warms up, it expands outwards causing the "bang" noise. It sounds like the noise you would make if you bent some metal inwards and then tried to push it back out from the inside to its normal position. Could this be part of the cause of the stove not turning off.

Please help I cannot barbecue everyday!
