Model Number: ww27430w Brand: Jenn-Air Age: More than 10 years
I have a Jenn-aire model no. ww27430w. The oven will go on for a matter of seconds before giving an "F" code. No number follows, just "F". Any suggestions? I had replaced the control panel about 2 years ago. Thanks

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for ww27430w models | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is a manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...s/16010312.pdf Note that is covers many units so you have to use extra care when reading it to ensure the info applies to your unit. Looks like a F code is a communications error re: a real pain. Connector Cleaning / Checking Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. This thing has lots of connectors so will take some time to clean and check them. Reconnect everything and give it a try.

Thanks for the help. I took apart the connections and cleaned them with a qtip and alcohol. I also inspected the J2 wiring but found nothing. The J2 wiring does not seem to be a harness or ribbon cable but about 8 individual wires band together running between the boards.
I put in back together and fired it up but started to get the f code again. I guess I will try to replace the clock / board as a next step? |
