Default wrong part for thermostat?
Model Number: FDU248 2D   Brand: Modern Maid   Age: More than 10 years

We ordered part number AP3970976 (MAC Y0300769) SENSOR, ERC. It does not seem to fit our oven. I called and David said that the leads may not look long enough to go from the oven to the oven knob, but they should reach. There are no electrical plug-in leads from the old thermostat to the switch, so how can the new thermostat work if that works by electrical leads? The old thermostat has a tube that goes from the thermostat to the oven termperature knob. There seems to be no way for this part to work in my oven. David says this is the replacement for the old part that used to be installed. What should I do? This part is useless to me, and I think I should return it. But what will I use instead, to get my oven to work properly again?
