Default THERMADOR double oven no heat
Model Number: SCD302TB   Brand: Thermador   Age: 1 - 5 years

I bought a Thermador double oven for my wife for Christmas a couple of years ago. I got it from a dealer out East and had it shipped to my front door. Installed it myself and it was great for 2 years. Suddenly the top oven wouldn't heat. So we got by with the bottom oven. Well, now it has decided to follow suit. It won't heat either. The first thing I checked were elements. I found it hard to believe that 6 elements(2 bake, 2 broil, 2 convection) would have burned out at almost the same time but I know how my luck runs so I checked anyway. As expected, the elements test ok. So on to the thermal breakers. Neither of them was tripped but I bypassed them in order to be certain, and still no heat. No voltage at all to ANY of the elements. Of course the nearest repair tech is 90 miles away and with gas prices I am looking at 350.00 just to drive here. So I posted a question at another site and the popular belief was that I needed to replace the controller board. After much searching and phoning ... I finally found the right part # and ordered one. Put it in and of course same results. So i thought that perhaps the temp. probes had malfunctioned somehow and were telling the oven it was already hot. But if I heat the probes, the reading goes up on the display, so I guess it's nothing that simple. After looking closer at the schematics I see an air switch on both the upper and lower ovens. The parts list that I had them send me mentions"sail switches"
but does not give an indication of where to find them. Could this be my culprit? And if so, where can I locate them??? I'm at wits end and am about to put this thing on the curb and go buy an amana . THANKS for any help you can offer!! -ERIC

By the way, Last night after giving up and turning off the lights to go to bed, I tripped over one of the oven doors I had taken off and set aside and smashed the door glass into a million pieces so i guess i'll be looking for that too!!!
