Under the backboard there is a piece of metal about 2 1/2 inches and when this is hit it trips the breaker. Usually after fixing the breaker the stove is okay but this last time after doing so the Element Light is staying on even though the stove is off. I am afraid to keep it plugged in. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this or if it is safe to keep it plugged in when it is not in use - thank you

Pat,

The model number you posted is actually the serial number. Verify and repost it.
