what is the venturi for on a GE gas range #egr3001ej1ss?I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT PART ON MY ORIGINAL EQUIP.

I NEED HELP REPLACING MY GAS BURNERS On a GErange#EGR3001EJ1SS ,my original equip. did not have a venturi so is that part neccasary?

On my GE cook top it was water in the control knob area. I took knobs off, and with a blow drier dried both the knobs and the are around the control shaft out and that solved the problem.
