I have a Magic Chef gas oven that stopped working a couple days ago. Up until then, it started up fine, heated food to the temperature and there were no problems. The stove burners still work.

I tried to light the pilot on the oven (not sure if it has one), went into the boiler area and lit a little caged part of the burner, but nothing happened? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Most likely the problem is a bad oven igniter (#6 on the diagram), but better if you'll check it with a multimeter.

Unplug the igniter wire plug and check the igniter for continuity. Replace the igniter if the circuit is open.

If there is a continuity, check for 120 VAC to the igniter while the oven thermostat calls for heat. Post the result.
