my oven takes a long time to light. it gives off a strong smell of gas while waiting to light. when it does light it sometimes heats up well and other times it takes a long time to reach temp. i looked at the igniter and it burns a bright orange while trying to light and it stays on when oven lights and is heating up. the read out on top of stoves just reads "lo" until oven reach's a readable temp.

thanks,

harryo

Sound like the oven igniter got weak. You can learn how the oven igniter works from one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...1897-oven-wont-lite.html.

The correction is to replace the igniter.
