Merry Christmas! :) Last night I needed to use the oven when I noticed that the oven would not ignite. :mad: I have a HOTPOINT Electric Ingition Self Cleaning oven. Model #RGB745GET1WH. I did not hear usual clicking noise from the electric ingitor nor saw a pilot light start! I am not trained in repairing range oven with an electric ignitor, or for that matter, any oven. I have my Readers Diegest Home Repair book for guidance and noticed a section of troublshooting: Key note states if you are not familar with working with gas oven, call a professional! :confused: So, I am seeking advise on what course of action should I take. COA #1: Call a repair tech on Monday (reduce cost); COA #2 - Look for a new range/oven, this one is 19 years old? COA #3 - Meet a professional technitican at Wal-Mart, strike up a conversation and he/she offers to come over to take a look at my overn.
COA #4 - Do nothing!:confused:

Most likely the problem is a bad oven igniter (#28 on the diagram). You have to have a simple multimeter if you would like to perform the troubleshooting to figure out exactly which part is bad. If you'll replace the igniter without such troubleshooting, there is a small (about 15%) chance that something else is the culprit.
