Hi:

I believe that 1 or 2 of my igniters are bad on my Jenn-Air cooktop. They sometimes keep clicking after the the burner ignites or keep clicking after another burner ignites (not the same burner).

The igniters are pretty cheap about $13. But how do I replace?

Do I take the nut of the top of the burner (gas) or do I need to take out the pan? If it is the pan that needs to be removed, I have already tried taking out all the screws, but it will not separate from the trim. Do I need to lift the whole unit out?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

More likely the problem is a bad spark module. You can find the instructions in the Service manual.

Thanks for the reply. My model # is CVGX2423B. My problem is identical to that faced by bmmiller139. Specifically, one of my igniters is bad, but I cant seem to be able to remove it. I tried removing the pan by removing the screws along the sides (see picture "pan screws"), but the pan remains stubbornly attached. I tried removing the nut that is attached to the burner base (see picture burner base nut), but it refused to budge. Just in case that particular nut was a problem, I tried loosening the nut on the other bases, but had the same problem. If I can somehow get under the burner base, I think I would be able to get the igniter out.

I am having the same problem and have tried the same things. Have you found a solution?
