Default SVD48600W broiler doesn't work
Model Number: SVD48600W   Brand: Jenn-Air   Age: 5 - 10 years

Broiler and self-clean function do not work. I found that the door lock switch is broken which explains why the clean function does not work. Not sure if the door lock switch is related to the broiler? I have not replaced the

I took the cover off of the broiler contact on the PRB and when I turn on the broiler the contact does close but no heat to the element.

Any recommendations?

FYI - The bottom oven element works fine.

thanks very much,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Remove the broil heating element as far as wires go and check for burned wires first.

Remove at least one wire from the heating element and check the resistance across the terminals. It suppose to be about 15 Ohms.

If the reading is different - replace the broil heating element.

Check for 240VAC to the broil heating element while the control calls for Broil.

If there is no 240VAC - replace the relay board.

- The part number for the broil heating element is AP376629

In order to provide the right part number for the relay board I need the mfg number of the range.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air range Model SVD48600W

Gene.
