Model Number: JDS9860AAP Brand: Jenn-Air Age: 1 - 5 years
After about 2 years, my Jenn-Air slide-in range stopped heating above 200F. A technician came out and diagnosed that the Clock (#74008207) and Relay (#74003482) were bad and had new parts sent to the house. I replaced these parts and everything was fine. Now, 6 months later we're having the exact same behavior.
The range is covered by a 5 year parts warranty and I called Jenn-Air but they can't help (other than another service call). Is it possible the same parts failed yet again? or might something else be going on somewhere that's causing these other parts to fail? I'm afraid of throwing good money after bad (Jenn-Air won't just send me the new parts even though the symptom is the same). Thanks is advance for any advice. |

I bought this Jenn-air thinking it would last a long time. Boy was I wrong. Mine turns out to be a relay problem as well. Could you tell me where you bought the relay & how hard it was to replace?
My relay has the number: T9AN1L22-24 P&B CHINA Not sure why it's different than yours. Also, when I took the control panel off I saw scorch marks from heat getting up there. I was wondering if I should fill that void that is there with some insulation of some sort. |

The numbers on the relay itself usually isn't the part numbers.
It sounds like excessive heat is getting into the control sectio causing these parts to fail. Check the oven exhaust to make sure it is secured and test the parts. Sometimes, depending on who you get on the customer service, if you gripe enough they will give a concession for parts & sometimes labor.

Thanks. I just looked up that relay and it looks different than the one that is the relay for the bake element. But thanks.
