Model Number: RS696PXGB7 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The other night I was baking cookies when I noticed the oven spewing smoke and burning. I pressed cancel but the element did not turn off and the oven had locked, presumably because the temp was so high. We turned off the circuit breaker to get the element off and after it cooled, briefly had to turn it on to unlock the door. We left the breaker off for the night and the next day we turned the breaker on. Control panel showed PF (power failure) and the time. We corrected the clock and the PF went away. There were NO codes shown, however the top element was on and glowing red even though the oven was not on.
Suggestions?? Is it the control panel and is this fairly simple to replace ourselves? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Ads By Google Related Models |
