Oven Repair (including Ranges and Cooktops)

Hello,
Please help me with this flat cooktop problem. The large burner (bottom right) is stuck on high. Knob indicates it is off. 'Element on' light is off. But the burner stays on high. Heard a soft zzzzt noise, then the burner was stuck on. Had to turn it off at the breaker. I can't figure how to get the top off to look underneath and can't find a manual online. Please Help! I have a cheesecake order to deliver and Thanksgiving is next week!

Most likely the problem is a short infinite switch for this burner. Check the switch for continuity between the L1 & H1 and L2 & H2 terminals while the switch is in "OFF" position. If there is continuity, replace the switch.

I have the same problem with my Electrolux model # PLEF398CCB. I'm thinking i need to check the infinite switch. It is an expandable burner, could this be the same problem?

Your range designed very differently. It has an electronic surface burner controls instead of regular infinite switches. What exactly is wrong? Does it show any error code for this burner?

Hey Gene, thanks for your response, and hopefully, you can help. When we use the front right burner, its staying off after turning the knob to the off position. It displays "HE" at the knob, i'm assuming its because it is still hot. We have to secure the stove at the breaker. Then when we turn the breaker back on, the eye is still on. This has happened before in the past but eventually it went off. It's been 2 days now and its still on. Any suggestions?

Looks like the problem is a bad relay on the power board (#97 on the diagram). It's located behind the back cover.

I'm having same problem with my Frigidaire Electrolux PLEF398CCB. The small element of the large burner in front stays on. How confident are we that part:
Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE CONTROL-ELECTRICAL, part number: AP4499660

will fix the problem?
