Hello,

I am looking for some advice on a Whirlpool double oven with a F2 E6 error and/or a blank screen. The light works, the buttons beep. If I power it off, wait 5 minutes and power it back on I will come up normal with the PF. I can clear the PF and set the clock, turn the oven on, everything is normal. When it first happened it was months between the F2 E6 and blank screen. Now it can be minutes.

I saw a posting (below) from Gene..

Remove the power from the oven. Open the control panel and unplug the key pad ribbon from the control board. Assemble the control panel back and turn the power on. Wait a few hours.
If the error code came back on, replace the control board.
If the error code did not show up, replace the control panel (the key pad comes as a control panel assembly).

I tried this but because the ribbon is un plugged I get a F2 E1 as soon as I power it up. Is this expected I assume so. Should I wait to see if the F2 E1 is replaced with a F2 E6 and/or a blank screen?

I have ordered the new keyboard but now I wonder if this is a control board issue instead.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I am new to appliance repair but with a kitchen full of Whirlpool appliances I can't afford to pay the repairs anymore. Refrigerator repairs (5 times) Dishwasher (two times), Microwave (three times) My first oven issue..yeah..
