Default Whirlpool oven Interior Glass Replacement
Model Number: GR450LXLQ0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

I have a Whirlpool oven, model # GR450LXLQ0. I am replacing the
interior glass door (Inner door glass - Size: 18 1/4 x 12 3/4 inch. Part
Number: AP3008062).

It's not apparent to me how to install this glass. can someone please provide a guide, step by step, for me to follow in order to change out
the broken interior door glass. For example, what comes off first (door
hinges??), next, take out glass, install new glass, reinstall door (?). Does the new/old glass slipp out the bottom of the door itself?

If anyone knows, please help...thanks. Bill

not an easy repair. getting the door off of the oven is really something that's difficult to describe without showing you. also, you will have to take EVERY screw out of the door to do this job. and if i didn't talk you out of it yet, some of the screws will NOT come out peacefully.

click on your model number and check out the exploded view of your door and you'll get a better picture of how to do it if you still want to.

just trying to save you some money because if you start to take it apart and can't finish it, i don't think you will find anyone who will.

sorry for the bad news, but if you do it, i stand corrected and impressed.

Hi William,

This part is not too difficult to replace yourself if you know how to handle a simple tools.

Remove the door from the oven first. The complete instructions you can find in the "Use and Care" book (pages 17 & 18).

Place the door on a flat surface with the front of the door facing down.

Remove the screws holding the inner door liner.

Remove the door liner and put it aside.

You can access the inner door glass now.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool range Model GR450LXLQ0

Default Thanks...

Thanks Roy and Gene. The glass is on route, so I have no choice to do it. I have no doubt that I will be able to replace it, I was only looking to see what sequencing was involved.

I appreciate the responses. Wish me luck!!!

Default Alls well that ends well.....

Gene,

All went well. It was a little tricky, but all in all it was a pretty simple job. Thanks again for the encouragement...

Take care,

Bill
