Oven heats up but won't maintain heat
Model Number: CRG9700CAE Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
The oven on my stove preheats with no problem, but will not maintain the temperature for cooking. The only way I’ve found for the oven to maintain it’s temperature, once it is preheated, is to:
Turn the oven off Turn the broiler on HI Let the broiler run for about a minute Turn off the broiler Turn on the oven again at the needed temperature This works most of the time and it seems to be the only way the oven will maintain the desired temperature. If you think it might be the oven igniter, would it be worth swapping it out with the broiler igniter? I look forward to any suggestions.
