Oven Repair (including Ranges and Cooktops)

The oven light magically turned on and won't shut off. Disconnected power for 5 minutes with no effect.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Hi Dave,

The model number you posted is not a valid Whirlpool model number.

Verify and repost it, please.

Thanks Gene, the range is a Whirlpool Gold (Canadian) GLP-85800. Since I posted, I tested the wiring and door switch and all is ok there. I suspect a bad relay on the main board, but since the light(s) remain on, I simply installed another switch in series that seems to do the trick.
