Model Number: JB970SB1SS Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
One of my dual surface radiant electric elements on my GE electric stove is not working properly. The indicator light near the control knob is always on even when the switch is in the off position. If I turn the knob to any position, the element will go to high and stay there. I have no control. I can either have full heat or no heat. The hot surface indicator light comes on when the element is hot and goes off when it cools off, so that circuit is working properly.
I think that I have a bad switch. However, the switch that I need (WB23M104) is not available anywhere (NLA - "no longer available"). I'm wondering if it would be possible to substitute a single element switch so that I could use one of the two dual elements? Do you have a wiring diagram for this stove?
