Default F9 error code after 45 minutes during self cleaning
Model Number: 911.47813201   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

We are having troubles with our Kenmore built-in oven/microwave unit. The last two times we have tried to clean our oven about 45 minutes into the cleaning cycle the unit beeps and displays a F9 code. The oven door is locked and will not unlock until oven cools. All other functions work fine with the unit just can't use self clean. If it is a problem I can fix myself I would like to but if getting a tech out is needed I will do that. Any advise would be greatly appreciated and would like to know if this is a common problem.

Gene has much to be proud of
Default

The "F9" error code means the EOC (electronic oven control) has found the lock motor switches to be out of sequence or shorted.

Check the switches and the wire harness from the door lock to the EOC.

If there is nothing wrong - replace the EOC.

- The part number for the door latch assembly is AP3184578

- The part number for the door latch harness is AP3792531

- The part number for the EOC is AP3792535

Gene.
