The largest burner on our electric stove top died (tragic for a family our size!). I opened up the stove top and found the wire between the control knob and the burner had burned out at the burner end of the wire. Do I need to replace the entire harness set or can I replace just the one wire? If so, is it still advisable to replace the entire set?

Is there much chance that the burner was faulty and caused the burnout of the harness wire? If I have to buy the whole harness set (approx. $50) I'd rather not burn out a second set by leaving a faulty burner in place. On the other hand, I'd also rather not buy an expensive new burner if I don't need to.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer?
