![]() Model Number: PLES399ECG Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
![]() The plastic threaded collar from one of the dual element controllers broke and I replaced it (AP3873639 (316441801) - Control dual element). I replaced the connections in the exact locations of the original part and made certain that all connections were seated. After turning the breaker back on the burners all work fine. When I turn the oven on, however, I get an F20 error code and the oven and warmer will not function. I understand this is an EOC communications error but all of the connections appear to be well seated. Any other ideas about what I might try next? I have tried flipping the circuit breaker several times without success. Related Models |

![]() I would try the following. Often ribbon cable cnnections can look OK but still be a problem.
Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try.

![]() I am afraid I have not had any luck yet.
I have now installed two burner control units and both have the same problem. When I install the original unit with the broken collar the oven works fine with no error. Out of desperation, I removed the control assembly from the original circuit board and replaced it with the assembly from one of the new circuit boards. Oddly, it will not turn the burner on. I have noticed that the new circuit boards are a different model that the original. I am beginning to think that there is a compatibility issue with the new circuit boards and the main control unit. I plan to check with Frigidaire next week about this possibility. I will post again if I have any luck and would appreciate hearing from you if you do so as well. Earl Kilgore Cumming, Iowa |

![]() I'm replying under a new user name cause my original failed.
Anyway, I reset the breaker and that seemed to work for a few minutes. I pressed bake and everything was working and then it went to error code f 20. I too will call Frigidaire and try to talk to a person and re post. thanks for the info |

![]() I did notice the different numbers and I believe we matched them up.What I think happened was when The dual element fell below the panel,a wire must have touched metal and caused the main board to short out.So that's what we replaced and has been working perfectly since.
