Model Number: CVG4280B Brand: Jenn-Air Age: More than 10 years
What is the part number for the correct 10,000 BTU burners for the right side only of the Jenn Air CVG4280??
I am concerned that I do not get the incorrect 8,000 BTU burners that come as part of the AG202 "cartridge" assembly. These burners have a different air shutter adjustment designed to work with the lower BTU left side gas control. As far as I know, they are not interchangeable with the higher BTU right side burners. I own both and I can confirm that they are different. My right side burners (the ones I wish to replace) have an adjustable air shutter (a screw and moveable window) whereas the left side burners that I purchased as part of the AG202 cartridge have a fixed air shutter and the owner's manual states that their air shutter is designed to work with the lower 8,000 BTU side. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information (even from Jenn Air) on the correct right side burners. I ended up ordering the following from this site's sponsor: AP4094514 (74005001) Burner (frt - blk) AP4094574 (74005189) Burner(rear/black) I am almost sure they are not correct and I have placed my order on hold until I can get some resolution here. I can't take 8,000 BTU burners as my primaries. The 10,000 are weak as it is. The reason I am almost sure they are incorrect is because these burners are the exact same part number that is sold in the AG202 kit, which is designed for the lower output left side. Thanks for any help. Related Models Last edited by AngusMcFarlan : 11-07-2009 at 07:40 PM. Reason: more info added |

I am now thinking that this is just a matter of Jenn Air shipping the burner with a different air shutter setting when sold as part of the AG202 cartridge for the left side. The burners are probably the same, right? The only difference between 10,000 BTU and 8,000 BTU sides is a larger orfice for the gas output where the burners slide in - at least that's my current thinking. The different look in air shutter design I am seeing between my current burners may just be a Jenn Air design change on the air shutter design. Maybe they went from a set screw and window design circa 1996 to a sliding sleeve type shutter sometime thereafter and that design looks like it continues to this day.
