Model Number: JBP80WFWW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
My wife turned on the front left burner, setting "HI" (this is the large single burner) to boil water. While she was doing another chore she heard a pop, turned around to locate the sound and noticed the burner was not glowing red. She proceded to check the other burners, all burners except the front left worked OK. The front left burner no longer gets hot. The indicator light for that burner comes on. The "HOT" light does not come on.
Can you help me diagnose the problem? Ads By Google Related Models |

Gene,
Thank you for you quick reply. When checking the continuity on the Switch, do you have the terminal designations and what I should expect? With the heating element, I assume there should be a low resistance reading or very close to "0" resistance. Can you provide the terminal designation on the element also? Which one would you check first? or should I say which is the easiest to check first? Thanks again. Ron |
