Default Erc Board/touch Pad
Model Number: SCE30600   Brand: Jenn-Air   Age: 5 - 10 years

I changed my ERC board out..part #AH120853 because it was completely dead and no error codes would show.

Installed the new unit and clock would show but the only buttons on touch pad that would work were cook time on/cook time off and the #1 and#2 timer keys. Coud not set clock..none of the numbered keys would respond as well as bake, broil & conv bake.

No error codes were showing on the new LED board. Removed the ribbon and no codes showed. Noticed oven fan ran when ribbon was removed.

Checked temperature sensor and was right in middle of ohm range about 1050.

I noticed when I put my finger on what seems to be a resistor...located dirrectly to right of the c3 capacitor on the ERC board..it was hot to the touch. I also noticed this was the only resistor that was soldered in a raised position above the circuit board and assumed it must normally run hot to be raised. Is it supposed to run hot or is this indicating something else is wrong like a short circuit maybe??

At this stage I am assuming I have a bad touch pad even though I get no error codes or even beeping to give me some clues. I tried heating the touch pad and lifting the key pad surface with a suction cut to unstick a potentially stuck or shorted key but no luck.

Any thoughts.

PS.. if the "resistor " is not supposed to be warm-hot to the touch I do not want to take the chance of burning out the new ERC while troubleshooting. I always turn the power off after about 1 hr of testing.

Default ERC Resistors on Jenn-air Oven

Should a resistor be hot to touch on the ERC board? The one next to the
c3 capacitor that is raised in mid air (does not lay down on printed circuit)
is hot to touch...is this normal?

Jenn-air SCE30600, part # AH120853.
