Range leaking gas from top burner control valves
Model Number: DGGF3042KFP Brand:
1 - 5 years
A few weeks ago, my wife noticed a strong gas smell around the range. The range and the furnace are the only gas appliances in the house, furnace is in the garage. I was at work, so I had the gas company come out and check. the gas company tech said that gas was coming from ALL (5) of the valves. After I turned the gas back on behind the range, it took about 24 hours to start leaking again. The valves I found to be leaking, are the 2 rear and the center burners, the ones we rarely use. The gas is also coming from the center of the knob shaft(see photos). Is it possible for 3 valves to go bad from lack of use? Could the regulator have failed, causing too much pressure to push passed the seals? Are these valves serviceable/grease-able? they have 2 screws each on the front.
Range was purchased from an authorized dealer 2.5 years ago, Frigidaire Customer Service couldn't care less.
Thanks in advance.
