Default Oven wont ignite
Model Number: rf1928469   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years   

Hi, when i push on bake then start, its starts the count down like its heating up//but the oven never ignites, the stove top burners work fine, just the oven and broiler wont start, a few months ago i decided to try it again, and bingo it lit up and worked for 3 months or so..now nothing again, help please, I dont want to buy a new oven...thanks Caryn

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model of the unit.

The number you posted is the serial number.

open your oven and turn on bake, look at the bottom of the oven, (actually in the small openings on the sides of the bottom) and see if it glows orange at all. if it is and it doesn't get hot, you need a new ignitor. if not, i might call a repairman.
